THERMOLOCK KF-S 012 A1, fire protection plaster (F240)

Product description
THERMOLOCK KF-S 012 A1 F240 is a versatile fire protection plaster available in either gray or white. Thermolock KF-S 012 A1 fire protection plaster was developed to reduce material consumption in areas with a high need for surface leveling or in areas with increased thickness of insulating plaster and is used for surfaces with fire-resistant properties such as electrical ducts. It has insulating properties in terms of heat, sound and fire, but no decorative properties.

Description
THERMOLOCK KF-S 012 A1 (240) is a lightweight, environmentally friendly and high quality composite insulating plaster developed by adapting pumice, perlite, expanded clay aggregate and various elements to the construction industry and used in new or existing buildings. It is applied directly to surfaces such as brick, aerated concrete, lightweight concrete, raw concrete, etc., especially in areas that require thick insulation or in new buildings to minimize the cost of insulation and leveling without relying on classic lime plaster. It provides insulation against fire, heat, sound and UV rays, but has no decorative properties. It is available in white and gray.

Application purpose
- Fulfillment of the desired insulation thickness based on U-value calculations in new or existing buildings.
- Renovation of existing buildings.
- Direct application on building elements such as bricks, aerated concrete, lightweight concrete, raw concrete, etc. during the shell construction.
- Reduction of the load on load-bearing elements by eliminating coarse plaster, nets, dowels, panels, etc. through the use of a single product.
- Contains no carcinogenic residues that could be released during the application of fiber products and does not affect the health of users and operators.
- Due to its light yet strong texture, it enables decorative coatings such as stone, marble, granite etc. to be securely fixed without being affected by the weaknesses of conventional insulating products.
- For decorative and waterproofing purposes, Thermolock KF-S 011 should preferably be used as a finishing coat. However, it can also be coated with high-quality decorative cement-based plaster.
- In the event of unforeseen events or similar situations, local or extensive renovations can be easily carried out. This ensures a healthy and safe environment in LEED-certified green buildings where Thermolock is used as environmentally friendly insulation.
- Its quick and easy application with machines or hand tools can reduce labor costs and increase working speed.
- Can be easily applied up to a thickness of 3 cm in a single pass without sagging or falling off.
POINTS TO NOTE FOR CORRECT APPLICATION:
- When opening the Thermolock packaging, the entire contents should be used. It should not be mixed with a shovel or trowel. The mortar should be prepared with a mixer or a machine.
- Never use more water than the specified amount.
- The surface on which the application is to be made must be firm, clean, dry and free of dust.
- If applied to painted surfaces, these should be scored frequently and prepared with a primer.
- Before applying THERMOLOCK KF-S 012 A1 (F 240), highly water-absorbent surfaces should be completely dried and, if possible, the moisture removed. In existing buildings, it is important to rectify all installation faults before applying the render.
- Weather conditions should be suitable (between +1 and +40 degrees Celsius). The product should not be exposed to low temperatures during and after application for the first seven hours. It is sufficient to protect the product from rain, snow and similar influences for one day.
- If the prepared plaster remains in the bucket or container for a long time and loses its consistency, do not add any additional water. Instead, the consistency can be restored by stirring again with a slow mixer.
- Thermolock KF-S 012 A1 provides thermal, acoustic, fire and UV insulation, but not waterproofing. Therefore, the surface should preferably be coated with Thermolock KF-S 011 or a decorative product with waterproofing.
