THERMOLOCK A1 sealing and base plaster

Product description
THERMOLOCK A1 waterproofing and skirting plaster provides excellent protection for horizontal surfaces exposed to extreme weather conditions such as rain, snow, heat and cold. With its high-performance insulation against water, moisture and fire, it ensures maximum safety and durability. Applied directly to bare concrete, it ensures complete waterproofing and perfect leveling. It also enables floor tiles, flagstones or granite cladding to be laid without any problems after just 48 hours drying time in normal weather conditions (+4 to +30 degrees Celsius).

Description
It is a cement-, perlite- and pumice-based composite insulating plaster that provides water, heat, sound, UV and fire protection insulation. It can be used on open terraces, balconies etc. as well as on vertical and horizontal surfaces. It is a high quality insulating plaster designed to provide both insulation and leveling in one product and one application.
Properties
- Watertightness
- Thermal insulation
- Sound insulation
- Non-flammable
- Diffusion (breathability)
- Strength
- High adhesion
- Easy to use
- Decorative surface
- Economic efficiency
- Environmentally friendly (green product)
- Lightness
- National and international quality certificates such as UTO-TSE-CE-ISO-ASTM-LEED-RT
Application purpose
- Based on regional U-value calculations, the thermal insulation is applied in the required thickness.
- It provides a complete seal against water.
- It insulates surfaces from external influences such as rain, snow, hail, UV rays, etc.
- It prevents condensation even at extreme temperatures and its excellent diffusion properties prevent the formation of mold and bacteria.
- Thanks to the cement-based binder, it has similar expansion and contraction rates to the building; due to its seamless structure, it does not form thermal and moisture bridges and ensures insulation that goes hand in hand with the service life of the building.
- It enables easy repair of deformations that can be caused by unforeseen events.
- Due to its strength, the surface can be left uncoated, or if effective use of the terrace is required, tiles, ceramics, marble, etc. can easily be applied to Thermolock.
- By using a single product and a single operation for insulation and leveling, the speed of work is increased and the application can be carried out quickly and efficiently, which in turn reduces construction costs.
- With the possibility of quick and easy application either by machine (all types of plastering or plastering machines) or by hand, labor costs are reduced and work speed is increased.
- With the ecological insulation Thermolock, which carries the LEED (Green Product) certificate, the aim is to achieve a high level of environmental compatibility and safety with A1 fire resistance in green buildings.
POINTS TO NOTE FOR CORRECT APPLICATION:
- Thermolock should be used in its entirety as soon as the packaging is opened. It should not be mixed with a shovel or spatula. The mixture should be prepared with a mixer or machine.
- For areas over 20 m², joints with an area of approx. 2-5 cm² should be left every 2-5 m² on average. These joints should also be smoothed with Thermolock.
- Never use more water than the specified quantity.
- Make sure that the surface to which the product is applied is firm, clean, dry and free of dust.
- Before applying Thermolock, it should be ensured that highly absorbent surfaces such as concrete tables and other surfaces are sufficiently dry and, if present, drained as far as possible.
- Weather conditions should be appropriate (between +1 and +40 degrees Celsius). The product should not be exposed to temperatures below freezing for the first seven hours during and after application. It is sufficient to keep the product away from rain, snow and similar influences for one day.
HOW IS THERMOLOCK USED?
Preparation of the plaster
THERMOLOCK A1 waterproofing and skirting plaster, which is available in 25 kg kraft bags, can be applied either by machine or by hand. For manual application, the product is mixed with 14-16 liters of water in a clean container and then processed for 5-6 minutes with a mixer.
Preparing and filling the surface
The surface is prepared in sections of around 20 m² by taking it up and leveling it (with a slope). The prepared anodes are filled and leveled. If a smoother surface is required, this can be removed with a plastering knife.
Finishing work and prevention of drainage problems
After the material has set, the anodes are removed and the surface is leveled with the same product. Places where horizontal and vertical surfaces meet are beveled and an additional layer of 20-25 cm is applied to the vertical surfaces and smoothed to prevent future drainage problems.
